Freedom fighters of India are those who fought for the freedom of the country.They plays a very important role for getting freedom from the a ti Britishers They are the persons who sacrifice their life for our country.The success and progress of a country depend upon patriot. They lived and died for the sake of our motherland.

War test the real patriot. Fake patriot fail to come forward to offer their required service during crisis. True patriot are the only and real strength of a nation. Some of the great freedom fighters of India : Mahatma Gandhi, Lal Bal Pal ,Rani Lakshmi bai ,Bhagat Singh , Chandra Sekhar Azad ,Sarojini Naidu, Jawaharlal Nehru,Rana Pratap. etc.


So let’s know about some of the freedom fighters of India in brief.

1) Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose

Subash Chandra Bose was born on January 23 1897 at Cuttack.His father Shri Janaki Nath Bose was a renowned lawyer. Therefore he had a comfortable childhood. His parents spared no effort for his education. While at school Subhash never got along with other British boy of his class . This childhood antipathy for the British remained with Subash all through his life. It was therefore not surprised that Subash had taken the vow to turn the British out of the country at very early age .

He was a great freedom fighter of India .He joined the Indian national Congress ,and he was an active participant of all his activities . In 1938 he was made the president of the Congress . But soon he resigned from his post after he felt that Mahatma Gandhi object to his approach of gaining freedom . He wants to use every weapons to snatch freedom from the British.

In Singapore he formed the Indian national army .At his Clarion slogan Give me blood and I will give you freedom and slogan Delhi chalo was on every ones lips.

Instead of the news of the victory of ina the news of his death in plane crash destroyed all the hoped of an armed liberation of the country from the British . He was great freedom fighter of India and brave son of motherland who gave the slogan of Jai hind to all indians.

2) Mahatma Gandhi

We are free nation today. We won the freedom the hard way. The man who guided our struggle for freedom was Mahatma Gandhi. He was the leader of our freedom. He was born in the middle class family on the 2 October 1869. His father was Dewan as Rajkot He was an average student at school . His faith in God found roots at early age and grew with years . He was married at very early age . After matriculation,he went to England to study law. He returned to India after completing his studies. Mahatma Gandhi went to South Africa where he found that India were not being properly treated. He fought for their rights .He was not scared by the threat of the government.

Mahatma Gandhi taught Indians the value of working with their own hands .He taught us the dignity of the labour. He gave the people two most powerful weapon of non violence and satyagraha . The success of these weapons can be seen in the fact that we achieved freedom without shedding of drop of the blood.
It is a matter of great shame that he fell to the bullet of his country man .He was shot on the evening on 30 January 1948. Mahatma Gandhi was called the father of the Nation .He is no more but memory is immortal. He was a silent freedom fighter of India . Mahatma Gandhi as the light of the nation.


3) Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru

Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru was one of the leaders who led India to Independence and also one of the great Freedom of India shaped India’s destiny during the seventeen years that he was the prime minister.He was one of great Freedom Fighters of India

He was born with a silver spoon in his mouth.His father, Pandit Moti Lal Nehru, was one of the leading lawyers of India. He was given elementary education at home by selected tutors. Later he studied at Harrow and Cambridge in England.The thought that the country was under foreign rule troubled his mind .He completed his studies and returned to India . He could not decide whether he should start practice or join the freedom movement.However, practising law was never his forte, Instead he preferred to join politics.
At that time he came in contact with Gandhiji, and fell under his influence. He suffered many hardship and went to jail many times. Even during his jail term, he took an active part in the Non Cooperation Movement and the Quit India Movement of Gandhiji.

As a result, India gained freedom on 15th of August ,1947. He became the first prime minister of free India.He worked for public good. He laid down the foundation for the industrial growth of the country. During his period many small and large scale industries were set up in the country.
Nehru was a great politician, thinker and orator and with that he was great freedom fighter of nation and supported many other freedom fighters of India too. He loved nature and Children. Children called him ChaCha Nehru. It is not surprising that the news of his death on 27th of May ,1964 by heart attack plunged the entire nation in grief.


4) Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel

Often called the Indian Bismarck , Vallabh Bhai Patel was the architect of the modern India . He was born on 31 October 1875 ,in a Patidar family of the village karamsad ,in kaira district , Gujarat .

He was the younger brother of the V.J Patel , who was an illustrion president of the Indian legistrative Assembly at one point of time .
Sardar Patel had his education in the village primary school and later in a high school at Naibad . In 1910 he went to England to study for Bar . After obtaining his first class and the topping list of the most successful candidate he was invited to join the middle temple bar . He proved to be an eminent lawyer and made plenty of the money.

During the 1918 kaira satyagraha he gave his full cooperation to Gandhiji .but isn’t was only after the 1919 Rowlatt act Agitation that Patel rose to become a leader of the national prominence . He was a great freedom fighter of india. The British arrestedy him while he was educating the masses on the principles of salt satyagraha. In 1946 he became minister in interim government led by Nehru . He made nearly all moments a success. He passed away on the morning of December 15 1951. His death was mourned by millions throughout the country . as a patriotic and statesman he had no equal . It was a loss to the nation .


5) Shri Bhim Rao Ambedkar

Shri Bhim Rao Ambedkar was born on April 14,1891 at Mahi in Maharashtra. His father’s name was Shri Ramji Sukhpal and his mother’s name was Bhimabai. Therefore, he was named as Bhim Sukhpal . He was sharp- witted from his early childhood . He started his education in his nearly village school . He took a keen interest in studies. Having born in low caste family he had to face disgrace , hardship, and humiliation at every step .His teacher gave him the name Ambedkar .

He was married in 1905 at the unripe age of fourteen with Ramabai . He secured a very high percentage of marks at the Intermediate Examination . He got his degree from Alfinston College ,Bombay in 1912. It enables him to proceed to America for higher education .In England ,he received the degrees of MSc Dms and PhD.

Dr.Ambedkar held the Highest post in many top institution .He decried the maltreatment meeted out to him and his fellow friends.He formed the outcase welfare society and organised the so called untouchable . In order to procure the so called untouchable . He launched a satyagraha on Chavdar Tank . Bhim Rao was a staunch revolutionary . Bhim Rao spent his entire life for the upliftment of the lowest category of the society .Dr Ambedkar had adopted Buddhist at the far end m of his life .

Dr. Ambedkar died on December 6 ,1956 .He was awarded the title Bharat Ratna on the eve of the celebration of his posthumous birth centenary in 1991 .Now he belongs to the ages .He was one of the great freedom fighter of India who fought against untouchability and caste system .


6) Bhagat Singh

Bhagat Singh was born on September 27,1907 Lyallpur, Western India [Now in Pakistan] .He was one of revolutionary hero in freedom of nation.

Bhagat Singh achieved his early education from Dayanand Anglo Vedic High School which was controlled by Arya Samaj. And his higher educations from National College both located in Lahore, Pakistan.

In 1926, Bhagat Singh founded young people committee the ‘Naujavan Bharat Sabha’ and associated with the Hindustan Republican Association , where he met several famous freedom fighters of India. He also rejected his parents proposal to get married.

With time and activities of Bhagat Singh, he had become a person of interest to the police department, and finally he was arrested for allegedly being involved in a bombing in May,1927. He was freed from jail later in few weeks.
After that Bhagat Singh led a march with Lala Lajpat Rai to protest against Britishers.

Bhagat singh , will always be remembered for his fearless nature and sacrifice for nation at such young age. He was fearless freedom fighter of nation.

7) Lal Bahadur Shastri

Nehru’s death was the dark of India everyone was based and dismayed the news had long the nation in to gloom and despair. Their Simran to take is place and lead the nation however the process of democracy did not come to a halt the Mantle to lead the nation fell on a big me sized man he was Lal Bahadur Shastri who has won the confidence of Jawaharlal Nehru during the closing your office life many doubted his capacity to deliver the goods Shastri proved all the doubting Thomases is wrong and Rose to the position of great eminence. He was Freedom Fighters of India as well as great leader.His stock went a very high and emerged as the Undisputed leader of the Indian masses. His devotion and duty towards the nation won him a mini admirers . National Prestige grew and India occupy the place of pride among the nations of the world .

He was born of poor parents he studied at Varanasi sometimes here to swim across the river Ganga as he was not able to pay for the fairy. He made his mark as a serious and hardworking student he was greatly influenced by national leaders like Lala Lajpat Rai and Gandhiji . He joined the national movement at an early age. His influenced slowly and reached its fully Glory when he became the Prime Minister of India since Independence he occupied responsible post in the party and inter government he was the railway minister home minister and Minister without portfolio he on the reputation of being a soft spoken and mild mannered person he had the neck of handling difficult situation . He could be listed in Freedom Fighters of India who fought silently as well as supported nation as great leader.


Every Indian was shocked by the suddenness of his death. Every Indian eye was wet there tears. The nation lost a captain who steered Through The Times of stress and strain every second in India’s history came to close with his death. he was not a great freedom fighter of India but a great leader who put out of country from the difficult situation after the death of Jawaharlal Nehru.

8) Indira Gandhi

Under the shadow of Lal Bahadur Shastri’s death , India had to choose her next Prime minister. It was a complex problem. The person who should succed to such position should have integrity , ability, experience,and capacity to lead the nation in her struggle for survival .
Indira Gandhi was born on 19 November 1917. She was the only child of jawahar Lal Nehru and Kamla Nehru. She was born in highly educated and renowned family. She grew up in the tradition and values of the Nehru family .Those were the times when Anand bhavan was the hub of political activities and freedom struggle . He supported his father in many ways and played major role in Freedom Fighters of India.

Indira Gandhi married Feroze Gandhi and bore him two sons. After her husband’s death in 1960 .Indira dedicated her life to politics and social work and for the betterment of the downtrodden . She worked for Hindu-Muslim unity when communal riots broke out in 1947 .She also occupied the position of the president of the Indian National Congress.She joined the minister of the information and broadcasting after her father’s death. She¬† was a successful prime minister . She initiated the 20 point programme which was bold way to bring prosperity to the poor.

Unfortunately , she died a tragic death when her own bodyguard assassination her. She was not freedom fighter who sacrifice her life but helped his father during his jail days.


So the final words for all freedom fighters of India are without them it was impossible for us to live free and independent life as we are living today. They all sacrificed their life without any fear to make our future bright.
